EDUCATIONAL CAMP EXPERIENCE
BY ZONDI KHOLOLWETHU
21 learners from Vhembe district
As a school if one succeeds then we are all proud, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the rest should stop trying. On a Thursday the 18th of May, 7 of our learners went on an educational camp to Makhado where they learnt a full eleven hours. As much as it sounds exhausting, learners learnt different aspects of life to help them and lighten their way forward. To add up to that, learning never exhausts the mind.
If one is not willing to learn then unfortunately on one can help you, but if one are determined to learn then no one stop you.
The 7 learners that went on this camp were 7 of the top 200 learners, namely Tinotenda Mushaninga, Twala Pearl, Thadiwanashe Mushaninga , Ethan Zitha, Adoration Chauke, Ntsumi Malaika and Rifuwo Makhubele. As they are expected to see the real world next year they do need guidelines.
The things that they learnt on this camp were;
- Discipline
- Time management
- Maximum concentration
- Team work
Finding one’s potential is really a powerful weapon to defeat what you thought was impossible. One should socialize themselves with people who don’t pull them down but instead builds them. Choosing your friends wisely is hard specially for teenagers but always look at the bright side of choosing friends. The Makhado camp was an eye open to show them that there is actually more competition out there than they actually thought. Help each other in order to succeed all and put in the effort. A learners is not expected to know all although with assistance from others, one can succeed. Learning, you need not to live as an island. Even the smartest people did not have at all figured out for themselves, but were also helped to reach their goal at some point. Education is what remains when one has forgotten what he/she has learnt in school.
EDUCATION IS THE MOST POWER WEAPON TO CHANGE THE WORLD
